Emmerdale spoilers follow from Friday's episode (January 10), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale has revealed the latest setback for Rhona Goskirk and Marlon Dingle in their emotional new storyline.

The couple are targeted by cruel online sleuths in Friday's episode as rumours and speculation circulate over their daughter April Windsor's disappearance.

April ran away from home at Christmas following a difficult few weeks in the village, which had included being kidnapped by dangerous Jade and finally discovering the full story behind the death of her mum Donna.

Viewers last saw April getting into an unknown car on a busy road, but there have been no confirmed sightings since. In the absence of any other information, Marlon and Rhona have been forced to deal with secrets that April was keeping from them before she disappeared.

In Friday's episode, Marlon's decision to release an unofficial appeal video online continues to have consequences.

Marlon's video went viral and sparked some nasty internet trolling, with strangers making unfounded accusations that he and Rhona are involved in April's disappearance.

The scrutiny continues as two amateur detectives team up to trick Rhona at the vets. One causes a scene in the waiting room, creating a distraction which allows the other to sneak into Rhona and Marlon's home and snoop around April's bedroom.

The shameless duo even livestream the break-in, hoping to gain more followers and attention with their unauthorised search for evidence.
