Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale will begin a dark blackmail plot for Will Taylor next week, as he receives sinister threats from an anonymous person.

After Will's ex Rose Jackson mysteriously disappeared recently, Will has been in the frame for attacking her - but it was revealed in last night's episode (August 26) that Rose had actually been picked up by her daughter, Dawn Fletcher, and taken to the airport.

Next week, Will is shocked to receive tormenting messages from an unknown number. As he comes to the conclusion that Rose must be the person responsible, angry Will calls the mystery number and rants down the phone, demanding that 'Rose' stop bothering him.

As Will realises that there was no international dial tone when he called the number, he concludes that the messages must not be from Rose after all.

He and Jimmy continue to wonder who the blackmailer could be, with Will starting to panic about how far the mystery person might go to ruin his life.

Later on, Will's ordeal gets worse when Jimmy shows him an email that they've received on their work account which contains pornographic images with Will and Rose's faces superimposed onto them.

Jimmy urges Will to go to the police about the threatening messages, but Will is too afraid of alerting his wife Kim Tate that he cheated on her with Rose before she left.

When Will gets another deep fake video on his phone, he realises that this could be a more serious problem than he'd initially thought.

As Will updates Jimmy on the latest message, he admits that his mystery blackmailer has demanded £10,000 from him in order to keep his secret.

Is Will going to give in to his tormenter, or will he stand firm? And who has discovered Will's big cheating secret?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
