Emmerdale's Belle Dingle receives news of a sad death next week.
Belle is shocked when she discovers that her boyfriend Tom King has sadly lost his mother.
The storyline begins on screen this week as Belle notices that something seems to be troubling Tom.
Tom appears visibly subdued, but he's reluctant to explain why when Belle asks him.

It's only next week that Belle finally learns that Tom's mum has passed away.

Since Tom returned to the village this year, many of his storylines have revolved around his struggles over his late dad Carl King.
Tom was sensitive over any mentions of his father, finding it difficult to come to terms with Carl's dark past.

Fans began to speculate that Tom could have a dark side too, but this was later dismissed by James Chase, who plays him.
James exclusively told Digital Spy in June: "I think it's easy to say that, because of the stuff that happened over a decade ago when he was younger. It's easy to make that assumption.
"But to me, I see Tom as [someone who has] turned over a new leaf now. I think he's put that behind him."
He added: "What I can say is that [we're] going to continue that interesting story between him and Belle.
"It's going to showcase the love between them and it will stay interesting for the audience."
