Emmerdale star Jessie Elland reveals Chloe's reaction to Sarah's suspicions

Emmerdale star Jessie Elland has weighed in on the suspicious Sarah Sugden, who's closing in on Chloe Harris and Mackenzie Boyd's baby secret.

Following a one-night stand last year, Elland's character is currently carrying Mack's child, unbeknownst to his fiancée Charity Dingle.

However, during next week's episodes, Charity's granddaughter Sarah begins to wonder what's going on between them.

Talking to Digital Spy and other media, Elland was asked if Sarah becoming suspicious is a nightmare realised.

"Yeah, especially for Chloe because they are so close and she feels awful about keeping it a secret, but it's necessary for her survival to keep it a secret," she said, before suggesting: "I think Chloe is able to deal with it quite well.

"She's quite confident in her ability to manipulate or conceal the truth. I think she's more confident about it.

"Chloe is superficially very calm and collected about it all. Then underneath is all [these] different layers of panicking. But because of how much Mackenzie is panicking and floundering, she's like: 'We're going to do X, Y, Z and it's going to be fine'."

On whether deep down Chloe wants Charity to find out the truth, she went on to reveal: "I think she's happy to have it as a secret. Especially because she's so close to Sarah.

"It hasn't been easy to settle into the family dynamic, but it's been nice to have that back in her life again. She's not happy because it's really awful and it's always underlying. But in her ideal world, it would be kept a secret and everything would go on as usual."

Elland also spoke about how she's been enjoying wearing a baby bump, saying: "I love it because it's really, really warm! It's so funny because I wore it for a very long day once. You get used to resting your hand on it, so when you get home, obviously I didn't have it on anymore, I went to sit down on my sofa and wondered where it had gone! It's really weird how you get used to it."
