Emmerdale's Moira Dingle faces the threat of criminal charges in January as she and her family are all dragged in for police questioning over Al Chapman's death.
Moira and her loved ones have been respecting Cain Dingle's wishes by pretending that he was responsible for Al's fatal shooting.
Cain's young son Kyle Winchester was the true culprit, but Cain is adamant that he wants to protect the schoolboy from legal consequences.
Cain's long-lost brother Caleb has a different view of the case, believing the authorities will be lenient if they argue that Kyle was trying to protect Cain. He encourages Moira and the others to be more honest with the police.

In tense scenes airing next month, Moira, Amy Wyatt, Mackenzie Boyd and Matty Barton are all taken down to the police station following new developments in the case.
DS Malik questions Moira about the mysterious trip she took with Kyle shortly after Al's death. Moira is rattled but sticks to her story.
Mackenzie also tries his best to keep quiet when DS Malik asks him to share information on Kyle.
While Amy is panicking more than the others, she too decides to stick to the agreed line.

The process is also difficult for Matty, especially when DS Malik warns him about the serious consequences of perverting the course of justice.
Once everyone has been released, they regroup at Butler's Farm.
Moira is starting to become anxious over Caleb's new-found involvement in the case. When Moira and Amy question his methods, Caleb becomes defensive.
Later, DS Malik arrives back at the farm and brings Kyle back in for questioning.
Kyle reaffirms that he was the one who killed Al, but will this be enough to secure Cain's freedom?
