Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has got a ton of cheating drama going on at the moment, and in the case of Mackenzie Boyd's one-night stand with Chloe Harris, it's resulted in her getting pregnant.

In typical soap fashion, Charity Dingle (who is Mackenzie's partner) will quickly find out that Chloe is expecting, leading Mack to consider telling the truth.

Of course, Charity isn't the kind of person to react calmly. And on top of all of this, Charity's sister Chas was the secret lover of the late Al Campbell, something Chloe is also investigating.

Speaking about what happens when Charity guesses Chloe's pregnancy as soon as she clocks the latter ordering an orange juice at the pub, actress Jessie Elland said: "It's awful. Chloe is squirming in discomfort; you can't help but feel for her because Charity is actually being really lovely to Chloe and wanting to help her.

"In light of what happened with Noah, Charity has gone out of the way to be nice to Chloe. She's says 'Who's the daddy? Is he gonna support you?' and Chloe, obviously has to lie.

"It’s awkward but also on another level, Charity is being so lovely to her and Chloe is missing out on that maternal figure, because Kerry has gone. She's wanted someone to look after her. But there’s that awful tension that person's boyfriend is the father of her baby...

"Chloe’s been around long enough and heard enough about Charity to know how badly things could go for her if Charity does find out about her and Mack!"

"The thing with Chloe is she wants to be looked after," Elland continued, "but she’s been rejected left, right and centre her whole life. So, she has built up this ice queen persona and acts like she’s really above everything, but it’s all because she doesn’t want people to see how much she’s actually hurting. At the end of the day, all she ever wanted was to be wanted and belong somewhere.

"She and Mac don’t really get on, it really was just a one-night stand. But there's still there's that tiny little bit of Chloe that wants him to turn around and say, 'Don't worry, after the baby’s born I’ll look after things and I’ll be there.'"

The actress also hopes that she gets more scenes with Emma Atkins, saying "she really, really brings us [Charity] to life and it's fantastic to get to watch that".

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
