Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Al Chapman may be dead in Emmerdale following his shock shooting, but he has left behind some problems for those close to him to deal with – and Chas is struggling to keep her secret safe.
Viewers of the ITV soap will know that Chas and Al were having an affair in the lead-up to his death, and it was Cain’s discovery of it that led to the fatal shot being fired – although not by Cain himself as almost everyone, including the police, think.
And things are not getting any less awkward for Chas as she tries to put everything behind her as Kerry is relying on her for support, and she even asks her to attend Al’s funeral with her.

But things have been grim in the Dales of late and there is another emotional sendoff that day too, this one for Liv's ashes being scattered, and Chas explains that she needs to be at that one instead.

The day proves to be tough for everyone with Chas unable to hide her emotions as she watches Vinny try to get through it, and she ends up pushing Paddy away further as a result.
Seeking refuge at The Woolpack, Chas is then confronted by more heartache when Chloe, Dawn and Billy return from Al’s funeral and reveal that not many people turned up to pay their respects to him.

Next up to pile the pressure onto Chas is Kerry who once again is in need of comfort, not knowing that Chas is sharing the same feelings of grief that she is.
Chas does manage to get her hands on the order of service, and she heads home to read it in secret. But she is overcome with emotion as she does and lashes out at Paddy.
But now Paddy is aware that there is more going on with Chas than he realised, will he work out that she was having an affair, and can he ever forgive her if he does?
