Emmerdale releases emotional Sally Dexter goodbye video after Faith's death airs

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has released an emotional goodbye video featuring Sally Dexter after her character Faith Dingle’s death was aired on the soap.

In the run-up to the big anniversary special this weekend, fans saw an hour-long episode on Thursday (October 13) focusing on Faith and her family as they realised they had to bid her a goodbye a lot sooner than expected.

And now, in the newly-released video, we see Sally talking about her time playing the character as well as her favourite moments from the show.

“I think they’ll love her lust for life. And the fact that she’ll give anybody a chance at least once,” she says.

She went on to reminisce about what she thinks the fans will miss most about her character.

“I think they’ll miss her mischief. They’ll miss her outrageous hairstyles and I know, her clothes sense. The fact that she’ll have a crack at anything or anyone. She won’t back down. So yeah, they’ll miss her mischief,” she said.

“It’s a funny thing when someone dies, isn’t it? Because it's usually, even if it’s expected – in fact, sometimes even more if its expected – because when it’s expected, you wait for them to die, and then they don’t and you think, ‘Oh, they’ll be fine for years!’ And then they die. A little bit different for Faith, obviously, for obvious reasons.

“I don’t think that’s something that Faith would really consider, because she’s a live and let live person and she’ll just think, ‘Well they’ll just get on, they’ll be fine.’ But it is her family – that’s who she’s concerned about,” she said.

“It’s been wonderful to be here. Really wonderful. [Faith] is sort of an amalgamation of a lot of my family, female family members. So it’s been a real pleasure to walk so closely with her. I’ve loved it, I really have,” she added.
