Emmerdale bosses have confirmed plans for Cain Dingle's feud with Al Chapman to come to a head this month.
The alpha males of the village have regularly clashed this year, but their biggest tension could be still to come.
Viewers know that Al is having an affair with Cain's sister Chas – and the secret lovers are currently planning to run away together.
Cain is currently in the dark over Al and Chas's connection, but with huge scenes on the way for Emmerdale's 50th anniversary month, could that be about to change?

Speaking about the anniversary, producer Laura Shaw commented: "There is going to be a lot of heartache involved in October and the rivalry between Cain and Al is really going to step up a gear.
"Al and Chas have grown a lot closer now but will their affair finally be exposed? Viewers will have to wait and see!"
Asked how long the anniversary storylines have been in the pipeline for, executive producer Jane Hudson replied: "Some of the storylines we have known for over a year, especially the story where we see it stepping up a gear between Cain and Al.
"Soaps are constantly being asked to prove why they are still relevant and why there is still a demand for them. This month delivers it. No drama can deliver what we are about to deliver in terms of visuals, storytelling, and performance."

Last week, Jeff Hordley and Natalie J Robb – who play Cain and his wife Moira – promised some big changes ahead for their characters.
Robb told TV Times: "After the sadness of Faith's passing, it doesn't end there for Moira. There is going to be a lot more drama."
Hordley added: "This is our anniversary month and there is a big ending to it, with a massive impact on Cain and Moira's lives..."
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV, and streams on the ITV Hub.
