Emmerdale star teases outcome of Vinny and Liv storyline

Emmerdale star Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny Dingle on the ITV soap, has teased what the outcome of Vinny and Liv's storyline will be.

Liv's mother Sandra is currently plotting to take her daughter's life savings, but she is going about it in a rather elaborate manner by attempting to ruin Liv and Vinny's marriage and create the impression that Vinny has feelings for Gabby.

In scenes airing next week, Sandra's plan begins to take shape when she convinces Gabby to talk to Vinny about his marriage and focuses on Liv's drinking problems by switching out her drink with one that's filled with alcohol.

Opening up about the storyline and how Vinny feels when he discovers that Liv has accidentally sipped some alcohol, Johnson explained: "He knows what she's been through, after this journey of Liv being an alcoholic. I think it scares him.

"He panics because he's been there before, where Liv has gone out and got herself blind drunk and not been in a good place. It's that scariness of worrying that she'll go back to that dark place and how he's going to get her out of it, really."

The actor continued by explaining that it's "a massive trust thing with Vinny", so when Liv doesn't tell him initially about what happened, it "worries him".

"She also doesn't say that she actually swallowed the alcohol, rather than spitting it out. That's what makes Vinny worried."

As for whether Vinny and Liv will be able to make it out of Sandra's scheming and save their marriage, Johnson added: "Even though I'd love Liv and Vinny to live a happy-ever-after, there's always something that comes between them.

"The storylines and scripts have been great. Jo [Mitchell, who plays Sandra] has added a real dynamic within that household. I'd like to think that Liv and Vinny can get through anything. Sandra is making that very difficult for them. They're still strong, they still love each other so hopefully there's light at the end of the tunnel for those two."
