Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Kim Tate was presented with a terrible truth in tonight's (May 20) double-header on ITV.

In an ongoing storyline, Gabby Thomas has been taking advantage of Kim's vulnerability – she's worried about having dementia – by fiddling with her bank account and withdrawing money behind her back.

However, it all came crashing down tonight as Kim's son Jamie turned Gabby in at Home Farm.

Heartbroken, furious and baffled, Kim initially turfed Gabby out, but she refused to go quietly and pleaded for one more chance, insisting that her fears of being penniless (thanks to Jamie's lack of support for the baby) influenced her sneaky and illegal behaviour.

Playing a pretty smart hand, Gabby appealed to Kim's better nature by saying that she's been a mum to her.

Kim then agreed to let Gabby stay, but later scenes revealed her real plan.

Fetching an ornament downstairs, Kim planted a hidden camera inside it to keep a watchful eye over everyone in order to figure out who she can trust.

Viewers we were left to ponder whether this will aid in Kim discovering that she's being continuously poisoned by an unknown culprit who's secretly tampering with her booze.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
