Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale's Belle Dingle faces a nasty shock tonight (October 5) as she realises that her plan against Jamie Tate may have backfired.
Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) recently spent weeks deceiving Jamie for the greater good, wanting to prove that he was the hit and run driver who knocked down Moira.
In Monday's episode, Belle remains at the police station for questioning after Jamie (Alexander Lincoln) turned the tables by telling lies about her.
Jamie has told the police that Belle was the hit and run driver – and much to her dismay, they seem to be taking his claims seriously.

The situation isn't looking good for Belle, as CCTV footage from outside a takeaway shows that she was driving Jamie's car on the day of the accident.
Despite this, Belle stays confident in the interview room, reminding DS Evans that Andrea (Anna Nightingale) can back up her story.
DS Evans promises that the police will indeed be talking to Andrea to see whose version of events she verifies.
Later, Belle is released and returns home to the village, where Jamie seems a little bit too smug about how things might turn out.

Soon afterwards, Belle is shaken to the core when she finds out what has happened.
