Emmerdale star Alexander Lincoln has revealed he wants Joe Tate to make a return to the village.
The actor, who plays Jamie Tate on the ITV soap, said he thinks the dynamic between Jamie and Joe (Ned Porteous) would be "really exciting to play".
Viewers might remember that Joe left the soap apparently "dead" in 2018, after Cain Dingle punched him. He was later seen in Graham Foster's car boot.
However, nothing is ever final in soapland, as in a subsequent episode, Kim Tate was shown a photo of Joe withdrawing money from a cash machine, very much alive and kicking, so he definitely could return.
"I'd want Joe back – that would be an interesting dynamic," Alexander told Inside Soap.
"He was very much more "Tatey" than Jamie is, and I think there could be a bit of friction there, which would be really exciting to play.

Jamie has a lot going on already without the added "friction" with another character, as he's embroiled in a love triangle with his wife Andrea (Anna Nightingale) and Belle Dingle.
He and his mum Kim Tate (Claire King) are also currently being blackmailed by Andrea, after she discovered it was Jamie who hit Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) with his car.
However, viewers will begin to see a change in Jamie, as he begins to fool Andrea into thinking he's happy in their relationship.
The actor recently said: "Jamie starts to feel like there's no way out, other than to be ruthless.
"There's some really interesting stuff coming up, which people are probably going to hate Jamie for, but they'll find him intriguing as well."
Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV, but will resume its usual schedule in September.
