Emmerdale introduced Cara Robinson in a surprise twist during Thursday night's episodes (January 9), and she may look very familiar to longtime soaps fans.
Nate Robinson's mother Cara is played by Carryl Thomas, who previously appeared in Channel 5 soap Family Affairs between 2003 and 2005 – alongside Emmerdale co-star Michael Wildman (who plays Al Chapman).
Thomas starred as Kelly Boulter, who was in a relationship with Justin MacKenzie (Ryan Davenport). Justin's half-brother Marc was played by none other than Wildman.

On Thursday, Cara was seen running over a stumbling Moira Dingle with her car.
Cara helped Moira and took her to hospital, and her identity was revealed when Nate arrived to check on Moira.
