Emmerdale's Kerry Wyatt found herself in big trouble tonight after she was called down to the police station to face questioning – but viewers were left furious when she tried to cover her own back by putting the blame on someone else.

Viewers already know that Kerry (Laura Norton) and her daughter Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) are responsible for the fire which lead to the tragic death of Frank Clayton, but the Wyatts are still none the wiser.

Instead, the duo are just trying to cover their tracks after they stole the Wild West charity event money from the Sharma & Sharma sweet factory's safe, not knowing that it was their actions that sparked the fire too.

During tonight's double bill (August 6), Amy shared her suspicions that they might be to blame for the fire, but Kerry reassured her that they had nothing to do with the devastating incident.

However, their involvement in the tragedy came close to being exposed when the police called Kerry to the station to question her about the missing money.

Feeling the pressure from the investigation, it wasn't long before DI Goldberg caught the holes in Kerry's story, and his suspicions were soon raised when Kerry accidentally dropped that she saw Tracy Metcalfe going into the factory.

"How did you know Tracy Metcalfe was inside the factory after the fire had started?" DI Goldberg asked Kerry.

In an attempt to cover her tracks further, Kerry then said that she did see Tracy inside the factory, but also implied that Tracy was there to find her dad, Frank, who was actually inside the factory to steal the charity money.

As far as viewers watching at home were concerned, they simply wanted justice to be served and were angry with Kerry for pointing the finger at Frank.

As everyone, including Frank's daughter Vanessa, started to believe Kerry's story, it seemed only Tracy was left believing the best of her dad – but Kerry's lies soon had Amy turning against her mum too.

"I had to throw them off the scent, otherwise they'd be looking at us," Kerry told Amy. "I had no choice. I didn't want to. But Frank... it can't hurt him, now can it?"

"We? You reckon you're doing this for the both of us. But I don't want any part of it. Or you," Amy shot back.

"You know exactly what you're doing. You're disgusting."

Will Amy's guilt convince her to reveal who really stole the money?
