Emmerdale's Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk had their 20-week baby scan tonight and it led to a heartwarming moment between the couple.
While tonight's (May 28) scenes focused on the upcoming baby scan, it nearly didn't happen at all after Paddy (Dominic Brunt) cancelled the appointment behind Chas's (Lucy Pargeter) back, fearing she wasn't ready yet.
The couple have been understandably nervous about the pregnancy, as it was at the 20-week mark that they discovered the tragic news about their daughter Grace.
But Paddy's decision was misjudged as Chas actually couldn't wait to get the scan out of the way, knowing that she'll be able to start enjoying her pregnancy if everything is okay.
Luckily for Paddy he was able to use some vet bribery tactics to arrange another last minute appointment for the scan. And, thankfully, there was good news for the couple, as the doctor confirmed that their baby is healthy.
The couple were then asked if they wanted to know the sex of the baby, and Chas told the doctor to write it down on a piece of paper for them to decide later as they wanted to just "enjoy the moment" at the scan.

When they got home, the whole Dingle clan was eagerly awaiting some good news and Chas and Paddy were able to excitedly show them pictures.
But when the couple were asked about the baby's sex they decided not to open the piece of paper in front of the family. Instead, in a touching moment, Chas and Paddy visited baby Grace's grave.
After reaching the decision that knowing they had a healthy baby on the way was enough for them, Paddy and Chas placed the piece of paper containing the sex on Grace's grave, so that she could keep their secret for them.
