Emmerdale has confirmed the due date for Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk's baby, and it's a date that's sure to be of interest for the soap's fans.
In tonight's (April 4) first episode, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) shared some emotional moments as they went to the hospital for their baby scan, remembering the tragedy they shared over baby Grace while also being determined to stay positive about this new pregnancy.
Happily, everything went well at the scan, and Paddy and Chas were able to see the baby for the first time as they were told that the baby was doing well and had a "strong, healthy heartbeat".
As the couple headed back to the village to share the good news, they also confirmed when the baby was due, telling their family that, all being well with the pregnancy, they can expect their little one to arrive on October 17.
"Thank you, all of you. You've got no idea how much this means, especially finishing it today," Chas told her loved ones, as she saw the finished memorial garden they'd been putting together for baby Grace.
"Is everything ok?" the couple are asked.
What to Read Next
"Well, as far as they can ever tell, right now, at this point in time, we have a perfectly-formed gorgeous little baby, due October 17."
Of course, Emmerdale viewers will know that the soap usually has a huge month of storylines in October – last year's saw the return of Kim Tate and the 'death' of Joe Tate, for example – which means that this year fans can likely expect the birth of Chas and Paddy's baby to be a part of that.
And viewers are already crossing everything in the hope that Chas and Paddy get the happy outcome they deserve after the heartbreak of losing daughter Grace:
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
