EastEnders' Chelsea Fox and Ian Beale had a dramatic showdown in the aftermath of her son Jordan's accident. Following Chelsea's revelation that she shouted at Jordan during Vicki and Ross's wedding, causing him to rush outside where he was hit by Ian's car, Ian has been trying to manipulate the situation to his advantage.
In tonight's scenes, Ian tried to push Chelsea to take responsibility for what she'd done, hoping that a possible legal development would be less severe if the blame laid on both of them.

"He needs you. That's all that matters right now," Ian told Chelsea at the hospital.
"All I can think is that, 'I put you in here'," she said heartbreakingly. "And if he has done serious damage, for the rest of his life, I'm gonna think, 'This is what I've done'."

"We've all said things in the heat of the moment that we didn't mean. It doesn't make you a bad mum," Ian offered with ulterior motives.
"Running away from the consequences, that would. And you're not gonna do that, are you?" he asked slyly.
Diane caught up with Chelsea and recoiled at the sight of Ian comforting her daughter.
"You're not supposed to be anywhere near us," Diane reminded him as Ian urged Chelsea to let him know how Jordan was doing.
"So you can update Johnny?" Diane said, knowing that Ian had contacted a solicitor.
"It's nothing, ok? It's just a formality," Ian told Chelsea before heading out.

Later on, Jordan's paediatric surgeon informed Chelsea that her son wasn't responding to stimuli and might not walk again. However, the doctor said that Jordan had a good chance to recover fully with extended rehabilitation, but Chelsea kept kicking herself over her part of responsibility.
Speaking with Denise, Chelsea realised that Ian might have checked in on her and Jordan for damage control, and headed to his house to give him a piece of her mind.
She barged into Ian's, slapping him and breaking the news that Jordan might be paralysed.
"I thought we'd come to an understanding," Ian began. "You said that you shouted at him so much you scared him and that's why he ran across the road. We're both at fault!"
Chelsea was having none of it, revealing to Ian that she knew what he'd been doing.
"You are acting like you care but secretly you're arming yourself in the background, trying to make it seem like I'm a bad mum," she said.
"You are going to pay for what you did to my son," she added, leaving Ian speechless.
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
