EastEnders has announced that Libby Fox will make her much-anticipated return to the soap later this month, as Belinda Owusu reprises her popular role once again for a short stint.
Viewers won’t be completely surprised by the news of Libby’s return, as she made a brief and very unexpected appearance in the New Year’s Day flashforward episode back in January.

While it was known that she would reappear in Walford at some point before 2027, it was not known until now when exactly she will return and the reason for her comeback after nine years away from the Square.
Libby will head back home during what is an incredibly difficult time for the Fox-Trueman family, with Denise’s recent blood cancer diagnosis leaving everyone completely stunned when they eventually discover the truth.

When Libby arrives in Walford to support her mum during her illness, it soon becomes clear to her that her whole family desperately needs help. This includes her sister Chelsea, who is struggling following the accident that has left her son Jordan with a serious spinal injury.

In a statement, Belinda Owusu said: "I am beyond thrilled to be back on the Square. Getting the Foxes back together has been such a joy, full of fun and nostalgia! It’s been 20 years since I first joined, so coming back has been like returning home!
"It’s a really great team and I’ve been loving my time here. Libby is coming home to support her family during a difficult time, and it’s been so wonderful stepping back into her shoes and becoming a Fox again."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
