EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has finally confirmed what will happen to The Vic – after a terrifying chain of events led Elaine Knight to reassess her future.

Linda has decided to sell her half of the pub to protect her sobriety, but Elaine insisted that she was staying and refused to leave her home.

In today’s double bill, the police called round and concluded that there would be no further consequences for Elaine serving underage teens alcohol last week.

But things were still tense between Linda and Elaine, especially when Elaine spotted her daughter seeking advice from George about the situation.

Elaine attempted to get a loan to buy Linda out, but she was refused by the bank. Desperately running out of options, she asked Johnny to be a silent partner, but he said this wasn’t a good idea.

In a rage, Elaine kicked everyone out of the pub and another row broke out with Linda – but she suddenly fell ill and collapsed.

She regained consciousness and claimed that she’d simply had a panic attack. Elaine had an emotional chat with Linda, and she admitted that she feared what the future would hold if she was no longer a landlady.

Linda felt guilty and considered not selling the pub after all, but Elaine then collapsed again, and Linda and Johnny realised that her condition was much more serious.

Johnny phoned an ambulance, explaining that Elaine was having a heart attack. But when the emergency services were delayed, Callum came to the rescue and used his status in the police to speed things up.

Linda told her mum that she was going to keep The Vic, but as they waited for the ambulance, Elaine urged her daughter to sell up.

Elaine then made a huge decision and told Linda that she would also sell her share, saying that it was time for them to move on together.

"Being your mum tops being a landlady," she explained, causing Linda to break down in tears – her feud with her mum now resolved.

With The Vic officially set to go on sale, what does the future hold for the new era of the pub?
