EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s second episode (30 June), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has confirmed a huge life update for former character Ash Panesar, in heartwarming news.

In the second episode of today’s double bill, Eve spotted an unexpected announcement on her phone and broke the news to wife Suki that her estranged daughter Ash was engaged.

Ash was last seen in Walford in 2023, and her relationship with her mum has since broken down, so Suki hasn’t heard from her in ages.

Eve had seen a photo on social media which showed a ring on Ash’s finger as she shared her happy news with the world. Plus, a quick online investigation revealed that Ash’s fiancée is a surgeon in her fifties, which Suki seemed to disapprove of.

Suki was devastated that Ash hadn’t reached out to her with this big life update but tried to pretend that she wasn’t bothered about this.

"Good luck to her," she said to Eve. "Ash made it pretty clear she doesn’t care about me, so why should I bother about anything she does?"

Is there any hope for Suki’s relationship with her daughter, and will we ever see Ash back in Walford?

Suki has another dramatic situation to deal with this week, after finding out that Bernie has been stealing from the Panesar accounts.

Bernie has secretly taken over £20,000 from the family and plans to use it to start a new life in Spain. She asked Felix to come with her in today’s episode, but he declined her offer.

Ravi and Priya were furious to discover Bernie’s betrayal and confronted her head on. However, Suki was keen to take control, as she was scared that if things went wrong, Bernie would expose the truth about Keanu’s death.
