EastEnders spoilers follow for the latest episode to air on BBC One and stream on iPlayer.

EastEnders' Nicola Mitchell flew off the handle tonight as she had an explosive row with Teddy.

The latest instalment opened up with Nicola doing up a tree in an attempt to revive their family's 'Half Christmas' tradition.

Barney seemed perked up by the idea, especially after recent events, but Harry felt like it was an excuse to paint on a happy face and sweep things under the rug, name-dropping Zack and Shireen.

An upset Barney stormed out, and Harry went to catch up with him in the street.

"You need to see this for what it is. Mum's making out she's doing this for you, but she ain't," Harry said, but Barney replied that at least she was doing something to lift the mood.

Later on, Harry saw Barney's recently-revealed biological dad Zack in the chippy, and asked him to come.

Zack scoffed at the idea, but Harry lied and said that Barney really wants him there.

"Now he's had time, he's got in his head he wants to go know you more," he said. "He probably won't say nothing to ya, but it's what he wants."

At the house, Teddy shared Harry's thoughts on the tradition, telling Nicola that he thought it was "a sham", but insisted that "all of it" was for Barney.

"Putting a smile on that boy's face is all I care about right now," she said, and he decided to give her a hand.

However, the mood later took a turn when she tried to proposition him, and he called her "a nasty, toxic mess of a person, the most miserable, manipulative person I ever had the misfortunate to know, let alone marry".

He went further, telling her that he tolerated being around her because of the kids, but he despises her, and hates every bone of her body.

She started to have her own 'bubbly's in the fridge' moment and started screaming as she knocked the tree over and raised her fist to hit Teddy... at the very moment Barney and Harry walked in.

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
