EastEnders star Danny Dyer dramatically left Walford behind in 2022, having been presumed dead after he drove off a cliff and disappeared into the sea.
With Mick's body having never been found, many fans have speculated that Mick could return to Albert Square one day, despite the fact that Dyer claimed last summer that he thinks Mick is "dead".
However, the actor has dropped a surprising revelation while appearing on The Late Late Show over the weekend, saying that he may in fact be open to a return.

"I do have a lot of people asking me about whether I'm going back and I'll be honest, I would have gone back [for the soap's recent 40th anniversary] if they'd have asked me, but they didn't ask me," he said. "I think they've got the hump with me now, I don't know why!"
The actor, who has since starred in Disney+ hit Rivals, joked that Mick getting romantically paired with villain Janine Butcher was a prompt for him to leave the soap.

"I just felt like I wanted to try and do some other stuff and I wanted to roll the dice," he said. "They put me with Janine, and I think when you end up with Janine, you've got to get out before you become... You know she's going to murder you eventually! So, I had to leave."

But he added that he would be up for a return if fans were keen in the future.
"Who knows? Maybe I will go back," he said. "You know, if the appetite's still there for it, then maybe bring Mick back."
Dyer, whose new film Marching Powder is due for release later this month, also confirmed that he has watched the recent 40th anniversary episodes and praised the soap's cast and crew for the live episode, saying that they "pulled it out of the bag".
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
