EastEnders has confirmed a tragic recovery twist involving Linda Carter that will air next week.
Linda’s drinking is continuing to spiral out of control, and the people around her are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.
In next week’s episodes, Linda’s situation will become much worse, when Johnny confronts his mum about her drinking and she decides to move in with Sharon.

But this doesn’t go well either, as after Linda steals alcohol from the Minute Mart, Alfie discovers that Sharon’s house was broken into because Linda left the door open.
Linda has more painful confrontations with her loved ones, but it was previously revealed that Phil and Lauren come to her rescue and offer to go to a meeting with her.
She agrees to this idea, and Johnny is thrilled that his mum has finally accepted help and has a desire to recover.

However, he soon finds out that Linda is already plotting how to get her next drink and realises that her addiction has become worse than ever. Furious, he throws his mum out of The Vic and she wanders off into the night.
Later on, Elaine arrives home from her honeymoon and strives to help Linda. But a truly devastating day forces her to give her daughter a serious ultimatum.
Also next week, Nicola is desperate to stir up trouble between Teddy and Sharon after finding out that they are giving their relationship a go.
In trying to recruit Phil in her scheme, Nicola discovers a secret about him. She promises Phil that she will keep it to herself, but she immediately tells Sharon – who then heads to see Phil.

Nicola uses this as an opportunity and reveals to Teddy that not only did Sharon and Phil kiss a few months back, but they are currently together now. Has Nicola wrecked Teddy and Sharon’s relationship before it has even begun?
Meanwhile, Phil’s loneliness becomes more apparent in upcoming scenes, and noticing this, Jay extends his invite to join them for Christmas Day once again.
It has been confirmed that Phil begrudgingly accepts Jay’s offer, but it is clear that his heart isn’t really in it. Will he be able to reach out to his loved ones?
