EastEnders has kicked off an intriguing new storyline tonight (October 30), as Jean Slater received some news that looked great on the surface, but might turn out to be a Halloween nightmare.

In the latest episode, Jean received a letter that told her she has money in her pension she previously didn't know about.

"Must be from that secretarial job I did before I met Brian," she pondered while talking to boyfriend Harvey Monroe.

The two reconciled, but were interrupted when Kojo Asare came around with a present of biscuits. Harvey quickly made an excuse to leave and went to see Kathy Beale.

Over a cup of tea, the two agreed that they wouldn't repeat the kiss they shared, although Harvey wanted to come clean to Jean about it, Kathy told him not to cause any drama.
