EastEnders spoilers follow for Tuesday’s episode (July 30) that is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has introduced fresh suspicions against Reiss Colwell, in the show’s latest episode.

This week, Reiss has continued to cover up the murder of his wife Debbie, in a bid to solve his financial woes.

But things got more complicated when, after he visited her at the mortuary, Debbie’s parents Brenda and Hugh arrived, confused about their daughter’s sudden death.

In today’s episode, which will air on BBC Two tonight, as Brenda demanded to know why Debbie declined so quickly, she asked who Sonia is – and Reiss introduced her as his landlady.

Back at the house, Sonia was furious that he had told yet another lie, and that their relationship had to remain a secret.

Reiss talked his way out of things again, promising no more lies, and the pair embraced, but Brenda walked into the kitchen at that very moment.

Their relationship now out in the open, Reiss explained how he didn’t expect to fall in love with Sonia and he had also been robbed of a life after Debbie's stroke.

While Hugh was supportive, Brenda exclaimed that Reiss never loved Debbie, to which Sonia argued that Reiss visited her much more than her parents did.

Before they left, Hugh asked Reiss about being several months in arrears with the care home fees, and he lied and said that he had things under control.

As Reiss and Sonia attended Martin’s birthday bash, Brenda and Hugh went to the café, where they overheard Sharon and Teddy talking about Reiss’ dodgy investment scheme.

They then confronted Reiss, saying that he had been stealing from Debbie for their IVF, and revealed that they had been putting hundreds of pounds into her account for months – something that Sonia had been unaware of.

Sonia was devastated that Reiss had lied yet again but put their argument on hold as she urged him to make things up to Brenda first.

At home, Brenda told Reiss that she had never trusted him and thought he was putting on an act, confirming that he isn’t fooling her.

While Sonia smoothed things over with Hugh, Brenda told Reiss that Debbie couldn’t stand him and would have left him before long.

She declared she would tell the police the money, saying, "when they start digging into you, who knows what they’re going to turn up?"

Will Brenda uncover Reiss’ shocking murder?
