EastEnders' Billy Mitchell is set to confront his father Stevie over his suspicions in new scenes.

The BBC soap is reintroducing the character this week, with Stevie turning up unexpectedly at The Vic as Nadine tries to get the family on side amid her baby storyline.

While Billy and Phil make it clear he's not welcome, Honey encourages Billy to give his dad a chance. However, a conversation about his childhood turns things sour, while Honey encourages Stevie to try harder with Billy.

When Stevie turns up at the house, Billy is furious, and he continues to shun his dad from his life despite pleas from Lexi and Honey. Lexi later takes matters into her own hands and enlists Stevie to encourage Nadine to get a DNA test.

In new scenes set to air next week, Honey continues to push Billy to give Stevie a chance, though states his father isn't allowed near the family.

Stevie bumps into Lexi, Will and Janet later on in the café and tries to get to know them better. However, when Billy finds out, he storms over to The Queen Vic and warns Stevie – though Honey says the kids have a right to know their grandfather.

Billy continues to ignore Honey's pleas, and is enraged when he sees Will at the café with Stevie. After the situation escalates violently, Billy worries he's turning into his father.

Then, Phil advises Billy to keep an eye on Stevie and learn what he really wants.

Billy decides to meet his father for a drink amid his suspicions, and demands to know what he is really after. Stevie says he is a lonely old man who just wants to get to know his family.

Later, Honey, Will and Janet arrive home and are shocked to see that Billy has invited Stevie over.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
