EastEnders aired a cliffhanger for George Knight as he found a new coping mechanism for his family troubles.
The arrival of Gloria and Eddie, George’s mother and adoptive father, has caused quite a stir in the Square in recent months, with George subsequently discovering that he was adopted as a result of child farming.
His head was sent spinning further after Eddie requested him to speak at his trial for the murder of George’s biological father, with the character also discovering that his biological mother had passed away recently.

Tonight’s (April 8) episode began with George receiving a phone call from a mystery person, and he later explained to daughter Anna that it was the Crown Prosecution Service checking in ahead of the trial.

He wasn’t telling the truth, however, with Gloria arriving at The Vic to confirm she was the person on the other end of the line. George was bemused as to why she’s changed her stance regarding Eddie’s trial.
Gloria reasoned that her change of heart came after realising that she had failed in the upbringing of her son, with George looking stone-faced as he contemplated whether to ring the CPS back.
After an emotional conversation, in which George and Gloria admitted they were consumed by guilt, she implored him one more time to reconsider, urging him to think of the effect it will have on families in the future.

Her intentions never seemed completely altruistic, however, and George soon validated his scepticism as he discovered Gloria calling Eddie in secret, who admitted that he was “all she had.”
Despite her pleas, George kicked Gloria out and said that he couldn’t associate with her any further. Looking demoralised as she left, George subsequently took to underground boxing to channel his anger…
