EastEnders star Molly Rainford would love to work more with soap veteran Steve McFadden, who plays Phil Mitchell.

Molly, who plays Anna Knight, has called for more scenes with the Walford baddie, admitting the character could be "scary".

"I'd love to work more with the Slaters, they are iconic, and Phil Mitchell. I've not done many with him but I can imagine it's scary," she told The Sun.

Speaking about her future, Rainford, who joined the BBC soap last year, said she hoped to stay for a long stint.

"I'm hoping to be a legacy character. I love the show. I've always loved it since I was little and just to be on it with people that I've watched for that long is an honour," she said.

"I think Anna realised pretty soon after she arrived that she had feelings for Bobby Beale," Molly said.

"But it's a hard situation to navigate when you've got someone who's part of your family, but not your family. It would be really cute if they could make a go of things."

In pure soapland fashion, the two characters have an interesting, intertwined family history – Anna is the daughter of long-lost Cindy Beale, who's also the mother of Bobby's brother Peter and his late siblings Steven and Lucy.

Anna and Bobby are, however, not related, so who knows what may happen between them.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
