EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders star Charlie Brooks has revealed further details about how her character, Janine Butcher, reacts to the terrifying fire drama that unfolds at the end of this week.
Janine has only just returned to the Square after a seven-year absence but her arrival has caused plenty of trouble already and things will take a major turn for the worse this Friday when Janine tracks down her daughter, Scarlett (Tabitha Byron), hiding in Phil Mitchell's house with her half-brother, Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall).
As Janine clashes with the kids, a fire breaks out in the house and the trio find themselves trapped in Tommy's bedroom, with the door locked and the key lost under the floorboards, while Phil (Steve McFadden) is unconscious downstairs after being knocked out by Shirley Carter (Linda Henry).

"When Janine is trapped, this vicious snake tongue comes out of her and unfortunately little Tommy's on the end of that," she said.
"When she realises there's a fire I think she's panicked. Underneath it all she does have a heart and her maternal instinct kicks in for sure, because it is there and her only concern is getting those kids out."
Charlie also revealed what it was like to film the dramatic scenes, promising that we can expect big things from the storyline.

"It's like EastEnders goes on tour a little bit, we're in the big warehouse so there's a real sense of excitement. We're creating a really big story so it's always fun to shoot those big episodes."
The Square is never quiet when Janine's around and Charlie shared that she wouldn't have it any other way, saying that she has found her latest return "really exciting".
"Wherever Janine goes, drama follows," she said. "My time playing her over the last 20 years has always been really exciting and always challenging for me as an actress to keep delving and keep exploring her so I'm looking forward to more of that. To come back with a big bang is amazing."

The fire will bring the Square's residents together as they raise the alarm and try to stage a rescue for the trapped occupants, with Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol) and Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) teaming up in an attempt to get them out.
But when the fire reaches a gas canister, there is a sudden explosion. Will everybody make it out of the building alive?
