EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders' Ruby Allen finally comes clean with her husband Martin Fowler next week, as her exit story is revealed.

Louisa Lytton, who recently gave birth to her first child, already filmed her final scenes earlier in the summer and we'll see them play out over the coming episodes.

What to Read Next

Ruby is currently on borrowed time in Walford anyway, given that Jean knows about the lies she told which led to Stacey's wrongful imprisonment.

Despite this, Ruby is determined not to go down without a fight and will spot an opportunity to play Jean at her own game.

As the two go head to head, Jean's world comes crashing down around her next week, when police arrest her on suspicion of a drugs offence.

At the police station, Jean refuses to comment about the weed found in her garage. However, when she gets up to leave, she collapses.

With Jean in trouble, the situation intensifies when Lily reveals to Martin she got the weed from Jean's – and Ruby knew this.

Although Ruby tries to reason with Martin, he doesn't buy her excuses and is left unsettled.

Martin's suspicions are confirmed when he sees a text on Ruby's phone from the police thanking her for her help and informing that a drugs-related arrest has been made.

As Martin begins to piece the dots together, Jean is refusing to help the police with their enquiries, despite a warning from her solicitor that she could end up in prison if she doesn't name the drug dealer.

When Jean continues to be questioned by the police, she has a lightbulb moment and explains that she's yet to reveal who it was.

Later, Ruby is overwhelmed with emotion to discover she's pregnant but the timing couldn't be worse as Martin is well and truly on to her.

Having visited Stacey, Martin confronts Ruby over everything and demands to know why she's been lying to him.

Knowing the game is up, Ruby is forced to come clean and admits she sent Stacey to prison, but what will happen next?

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media at a press event recently, executive producers Kate Oates and Jon Sen teased Ruby's impending downfall.

"We've got Ruby, who Jean is intent on bringing down and clearing Stacey's name," Kate said. "Ruby is going to come to a slightly sticky end so it's fun to see how that plays out, and that means we've also got Stacey's return."

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
