EastEnders star Jessica Plummer is looking back on one of her funniest on-set moments.

The Chantelle Atkins actress will reflect on her 18 months in Walford for Secrets from the Square – as part of two episodes airing next week, along with a chat featuring Linda Henry and Luisa Bradshaw-White.

Ahead of these special episodes, Plummer has opened up about her EastEnders experience, including how she barely kept a straight face while filming Keegan (Zack Morris) and Tiffany's (Maisie Smith) wedding.

"There's a scene when Keegan and Tiffany run off to get married. I did my first location shoot for it and we were driving around in the van which was a lot of fun," she recalled.

"At the wedding reception, Zack (aka Keegan) had a speech where he says to Karen, 'Where's the ring?' and on the day, I was probably deliriously tired, but every time he'd do it he'd say, 'Where's the wing?' and I just found it hilarious.

"It was a definite 'you had to be there' moment but I still think about that day all the time!"

Plummer also shared some favourite moments from working on EastEnders, including getting to have Roger Griffiths as her on-screen dad Mitch.

"Roger is the person that no matter what scene it is, he finds a way to connect with your character that feels so real and as an actor I've learnt so much from him," she said.

"Roger learns the lines but will wait 'till shooting to add the colour, in terms of seeing what the other person does and he'll react to that.

"It really helps because you have to be really present and let the other person's feelings and emotions affect you – I learnt that from Rodger, he's great."

On looking back at her past in Walford for Secrets from the Square, Plummer noted: "I joined the Square 18 months ago but when I was watching the old clips back it felt like a lifetime ago!

"When you look back on things you see it was a different life time but I also remember it so intricately like it was yesterday – it was nice to take a trip down memory lane."

This Secrets from the Square episode was also a chance for Plummer and fellow Taylor family members to return to set, prior to filming resuming weeks ago.

"Coming back to film on set was so surreal, it was the first time I'd seen my co-workers and cast members in so long so it was so nice to see everyone," she explained. "And of course meeting Stacey Dooley was a highlight, I've had a bit of a girl crush on her too!"

New episodes of the soap will resume on Monday, September 7, kicking off a gripping storyline that will see Chantelle finally trying to get away from her abusive husband Gray.

EastEnders: Secrets from the Square continues next Monday (August 24) at 8pm on BBC One with Linda Henry and Luisa Bradshaw-White discussing the Carter family, and then Tuesday at 7.30pm with Plummer and Lorraine Stanley.
