EastEnders duo Letitia Dean and Adam Woodyatt have opened up about behind-the-scenes punishments on the soap.

Appearing together opposite host Stacey Dooley on tomorrow's (June 29) edition of EastEnders: Secrets from the Square, the Sharon Watts and Ian Beale stars joke about being "sent home" one time after getting "the giggles".

Sounds a bit harsh.

"Tish, Sue, Paul and me, we all got sent home one Friday afternoon and told to come back the following day because we just got the giggles," recalls Adam, before adding: "We got properly told off and sent home."

Letitia also comments: "It was very strict. We weren't allowed to have any egos as kids as Julia [Smith, co-creator of EastEnders] wouldn't have it."

Apparently, Julia wouldn't let the female cast members wear make up while they were at work, either, with Letitia revealing "if you stuck it on, she would take it off with a flannel".

Elsewhere, Adam recently discussed how fame has changed since he began acting.

Explaining how people are no longer interested in autographs, he said: "Everybody wants a selfie. If I'm having a meal, I'll ask someone to wait until I've finished eating. At this point it usually turns to, 'You're just like your character, you're rude.'

"Actually no, you're the one who is being rude. You've come up and interrupted somebody while they're in the middle of doing something. Have some patience. Have some manners."

EastEnders: Secrets from the Square continues tomorrow on BBC One at 8pm.
