EastEnders is lining up a worrying future for Whitney Dean in the aftermath of Leo King's shock death last week (February 14).
Viewers know that Whitney (Shona McGarty) killed Leo (Tom Wells) in self-defence after he threatened her with a knife during their final showdown, and in tonight's (February 17) episode a panicked Whitney ended up turning to Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) for help.
As a stunned Mick considered the scene, he quickly came up with a plan to try and cover up Whitney's involvement in Leo's death after Whitney shared her fears about going to prison for killing him.
"It was self defence," Mick told her. "Everyone saw how he was stalking you."
"That's just it, isn't it?" Whitney replied. "The police didn't believe it."
Rather than call the police, Mick and Whitney decided to cover up the crime, with Mick telling her to get ready for the boat party to give herself an alibi before sharing his plan to throw the knife overboard to get rid of the evidence.

But when Mick and Whitney's closeness at the party ends up stirring up his wife Linda's (Kellie Bright) old jealousies and insecurities, Mick had a change of heart and ended up telling Whitney that he couldn't help her.

Before Whitney could follow through on her plan to come clean, however, a startled Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) unexpectedly arrived home early and called the police after finding Leo's body.
With Whitney on the boat and currently oblivious to the fact that the police are involved, things only look set to get worse as the soap's big boat disaster gets underway – and Mick and Linda are left in danger.
