EastEnders actor Max Bowden has made quite the impression since becoming the sixth actor to play Ben Mitchell, transforming the character into a sadistic chip off the old block with some intense daddy issues.
But it's not actually the first time that Bowden has played the son of Phil Mitchell actor Steve McFadden.
The star told Digital Spy and other media at a press event: "[EastEnders] wasn't the first time I'd worked with Steve! I played his son when I was 9 in a pantomime in Woking.

"He didn't remember me! [The show was] Peter Pan, he was Hook."
With Steve not remembering working with Max (we can't blame him – Max would have looked very different), the people behind the show decided to throw them in the deep end together to build their relationship up.

Max also talked about how he didn't know he was auditioning for the role of Ben, stating: "It was terrifying because it was such a well-known, established show and it's a well-established character.

"I think it made it more exciting because there was all this heritage and all of this kind of familiarity from an audience perspective that you had so much history to work with. For an actor, that's what you look for, you want to see where you've been and then where they're going, so it was exciting."
Fans were treated to a nice throwback last week when one of the old Ben Mitchells made a 'cameo'.
EastEnders continues tonight (August 27) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
