EastEnders has confirmed that one resident will lose their life next week as Hunter Owen takes deadly revenge.

Hunter (Charlie Winter) has escaped from prison in a shocking new twist – and is currently planning to flee the country with his mum.

Although Mel is desperate to get away with Hunter as quickly as possible, it soon becomes clear that there's something he plans to do first.

Still adamant that Jack is to blame for his prison fate, Hunter becomes hellbent on getting revenge on him – much to Mel's increasing concern.

At the Brannings', Hunter lies in wait for Jack and gives Denise a terrible fright when she arrives home instead and comes face-to-face with him.

Finally realising where his target is, Hunter heads off to The Vic and sneaks into the barrel store with the gun.

Fans will have to wait and see what happens next, but with Hunter determined to get the ultimate revenge on Jack, his plan quickly spirals out of control – with deadly consequences.

As those inside The Vic – including Whitney, Callum, Ben and the wedding party – find themselves caught in the crossfire of Hunter's plan, all hell breaks loose and at least one person isn't getting out of the week alive.

EastEnders airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, September 3 on BBC One.
