EastEnders star Tony Clay is backing Whitney and Halfway's new baby storyline.
The couple recently decided to try for a baby, after an incident over the festive season made them realise just how much they wanted to start a family.
Speaking to Digital Spy at the National Television Awards last night, Tony – who plays Halfway – was confident that his character would make a good father.
He said: "I think he'd be a great dad. He's had a bad upbringing and I think he'd want to look after his kid so they don't have to go through the same experiences that he's had. He'd be a great dad."
Speaking about whether Halfway's troubled brother Stuart can be redeemed after all his wrongdoings, Tony added: "Yes, I do. 100%. Everyone has their flaws and I think it's important that you don't just cast people off because they have acted out.
"In this day and age there is such a focus on mental health and I think people can be quick to discard someone without finding out what the problem is or where it comes from.
