Coronation Street star Beth Nixon has spoken about the challenges she faced when filming her character Megan Walsh's storyline.
Following a week-long trial, evil Megan exited the ITV soap last week after being found guilty of grooming teenager Will Driscoll.
Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap's Soap Scoop podcast, Beth opened up about what moments she found particularly challenging while playing the dark role.
Calling the storyline "icky", Beth said that Will actor Lucas Hodgson-Wale was 17 when they started filming scenes, saying: "There was no actual intimacy, which obviously made it a lot easier 'cause I think that would have been a real challenge."
While Beth said that not being able to perform intimacy made the scenes easier, she added that they had to "come up with really creative ways to show love".
She continued: "Because we couldn't kiss or anything like that. Whenever there would naturally be a kiss in the scene, we'd have to come up with something else.

"So that was a challenge in itself to figure out how do we orchestrate, how do we make this look believable without actually having the actual intimacy there."
In the interview, Beth said that fans were surprised to learn that the characters had never kissed, and that the creators had come up with different ways to show intimacy, such as hugging or exchanging glances.
"But yeah, that was probably the most challenging part because obviously if it wasn't an age gap, then you can just be natural and you can just do what you would naturally do with your partner in real life."
While filming scenes proved challenging, Beth said that the soap's priority was making sure that Lucas felt safe, adding: "But obviously, because we weren't allowed to do that, we had to think about it and we had to make sure that Lucas felt safe and, obviously, that I felt safe as well."
Elsewhere in the interview, Beth opened up about Megan's storyline, saying she always knew her character would get her comeuppance, saying: "We always knew that she was going to serve her time."
