Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has updated fans on the whereabouts of an absent character amid another comeback.

In an episode from last week, the ITV soap featured the return of an old location, which hadn't been featured in more than a year.

While fans are regularly shown shots of the outside of the Kabin, in Friday's episode, we were treated to a scene from within the location, which was last seen in January 2024.

In the scene, Jenny Connor, who works at the shop, asked George Shuttleworth to help fix a leak, and later compared a soaking wet George to Colin Firth's Mr Darcy, hinting at a future romance.

In today's episode, the once-forgotten location was featured yet again during a conversation about a character who has not been seen on the soap since 2020.

At the Kabin, Ryan Connor mentioned Ali Neeson, telling Jenny and Rita Taner that Ali is engaged, after searching for an engagement card.

"He's popped the question," Ryan said. "And she said yes, much to everyone's shock."

First introduced in December 2007, Ali entered the soap alongside Nick and Wendy Neeson as their son, though it was later revealed that Ali and Ryan had been swapped at birth.

After Nick and Wendy found out that they were not Ali's biological parents, they hired a private detective, who found out that Dean Powell and Michelle Connor were raising their son Ryan, who had been swapped with Ali.

Ali left the soap in 2008, returning in 2018 for two years until his departure in 2020. Off-screen it was revealed that the character had been sentenced to four months in prison after assaulting Gary Windass.

It was later confirmed that he had been released to start a new life in Liverpool, and it looks like that new life is going well for him, considering the news of his engagement.
