Coronation Street unveiled a moment of blackmail as the love triangle between the Websters took another twist.

Things have been heated in the household lately, with Abi and Carl sharing a mutual attraction despite the existence of her husband and his half-brother, Kevin. Furthermore, Carl has been using the garage to falsify MOT's for stolen vehicles.

Friday's (25 July) instalment saw matters intensify as Kevin chased down a stolen car, and immediately suspected Carl of deceit. Carl, however, played his own trump card, threatening to expose the fact that Kevin had lied to Abi about his cancer treatment.

Kevin later informed Carl that he was "dead" to him, with Monday's (28 July) episode picking up as Abi voiced her suspicions regarding the theft of the car. As she left the room and Kevin entered, the half-brothers began to verbally spar.

Abi chastised Carl for agreeing to let Brody Michaelis work at the garage given their financial predicament. She also expressed concern over Kevin to Tyrone Dobbs, though he told her that everything would be okay (he secretly knows that Kevin has been given the all-clear).

Abi pressured Kevin to tell Jack Webster that he hadn't recovered, a move that meant Kevin finally told his wife the truth regarding his all-clear status. Kevin reasoned that he concealed the truth in order to keep Abi close, admitting that he had spotted her attraction to Carl.

Abi, however, was furious, sharing that she "couldn't look" at her husband following his failure to disclose the truth. Kevin incorrectly assumed that Carl was the one who told Abi about his health update, though Tyrone later confessed that it was he who let things slip.

As Abi and Carl discussed matters, she said that her marriage to Kevin was "over", with the pair acting upon their palpable tension as they had sex at the garage. Just as it looked likely that Kevin would discover them, Carl quickly distracted him with a text.

Despite upholding his end of the deal, Carl was put on the back foot by Kevin once again as he threatened to go to the police if he ever "went near Abi". Carl heeded his warning, and attempted to call things off with Abi, though she remarked that the "ship had sailed".

She later told Kevin that they were through, saying she would soon pack her bags and leave the house. She changed her mind after a conversation with Jack, but the cracks in her relationship with Kevin still remain…
