Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has confirmed the return of one troublesome character in new filming pictures.

The cast and crew have been down Canal Street, the heart of Manchester's Gay Village, to shoot an upcoming storyline.

In the pictures, we can see Patti Clare (Mary Taylor), Antony Cotton (Sean Tully), Jodie Prenger (Glenda Shuttleworth), Gareth Pierce (Todd Grimshaw)... and Amy Robbins.

Yes, that means that Daisy Midgeley's scheming mum Christina Boyd is back already.

Christina left the Cobbles earlier this year, after her plan to backstab Daisy and take more than her share of the money they were scheming to scam out of Jenny Connor backfired, and she was the one who got backstabbed.

At the time, Inside Soap exclusively revealed that Christina would be back, as she's got unfinished business that she'd like to settle, even without Daisy's help.

"The scam to fleece Jenny might have gone off the rails, but Christina is biding her time before she crawls out of the woodwork to create more mischief," our Corrie source said back in April.

Robbins also previously stated that she made it her mission to get the soap's bosses to bring Christina back, despite the lack of Daisy.

"I'm trying to have so much fun with her in the pub that they can't get rid of her," she said,

It's safe to say that the plan worked, but exactly what kind of storyline is bringing her back, and what kind of carnage are the Weatherfield lot going to get up to on Canal Street?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
