Coronation Street's Debbie Webster rekindled her relationship with Ronnie Bailey as her emotional dementia storyline continued.

Debbie collapsed earlier this week and was taken to the hospital by Abi, where she was told she had suffered a TIA, a precursor to a potential stroke.

After being left in the waiting room, Debbie left the hospital without telling anyone where she was going, leaving Kevin, Abi, and Carl worried sick.

In Wednesday's episode Abi picked Debbie up from the police station after she was arrested for being drunk and disorderly in a dessert shop. Debbie swore Abi to secrecy, telling everyone else she had been staying at a spa hotel in Cheshire.

In Friday's (27 June) episode, Ronnie visited Debbie after a conversation with Carl, with the character arriving with a bottle of champagne in hand as he planned a romantic gesture for Debbie.

"I love you Debbie Webster. I can't turn that off. And if you take me back I promise on my life, I'm all in," said Ronnie.

Debbie initially refused to entertain the idea, admitting that she loved Ronnie but would rather he found happiness with someone else than be her carer, saying: "I love you enough to know you'll have a much happier life without me in it."

When a tearful Debbie confessed that she was scared, Ronnie hugged her and begged her to let him be a part of her future whatever it holds. After much pondering, Debbie finally accepted his offer.

The reunited and happy couple later met Kevin, Abi and Carl in the bistro, with Kevin expressing how pleased he was that they were back together.

Kevin thanked Abi for all her love and support and Carl smiled at her, but Abi avoided him. At the bar, Abi told Carl that he couldn’t fool her with his tough guy act, saying he’s been an incredible support to Debbie.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
