Coronation Street's couple Tim and Sally Metcalfe won't be seeing eye to eye on whether they're fit to expand their family.

In upcoming scenes, Sally enjoys having the house to herself and Tim after Lou Michaelis and her young daughters were staying with them.

Meanwhile, Tim is in a completely different mood, but doesn't tell Sally he's had a fostering meeting.

Later on, Sally returns home to find Tim wearing his best shirt and the house looking immaculate. When the doorbell rings and a social worker appears on their doorstep, Sally is taken aback.

"Tim has been interested in the idea of fostering for months – he was inspired by how much he and Sally got along with Mason when he was briefly staying with them," our Corrie source said.

"Sally is much more hesitant, as she enjoys the empty nest and doesn't want to shake things up too much. Do she and Tim now want different things?"

These scenes air on Monday 2 June and Wednesday 4 June.
