Coronation Street star Gareth Pierce has spoken about recent scenes that revisited an old Todd Grimshaw connection.
Way back in the day, before Pierce took on the role and before Todd came out as gay, he was with Sarah Platt. They had a son named Billy together, but he sadly died.
In a recent episode, the former couple had some scenes together and reflected on their loss, with Todd stating that he'd have thrown Billy a great 21st birthday party.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other press outlets, Pierce said that he really enjoyed the scenes with Tina O'Brien and teased there's more to come.
"That's one of the dear relationships that I've really missed not getting quite as much screen time more recently," he said. "They do have this rich shared history and big, big stuff together in their past.

"Tina and I get on brilliantly and we did have the opportunity of some quite nice connection when I first took over as Todd. But it was sort of, say, five to six significant scenes over time rather than really getting lots of time together in one or two blocks. So, yeah, I definitely missed that and it's been brilliant to have that opportunity again.

"And it seems like the audience are quite excited about that prospect as well. So we're doing more now and I think they can just be really great confidants for each other because they really, really understand and get each other."
He added: "Since Todd's coming out, they're not in any way going to be together romantically, so actually there’s a real honesty that they can have with each other. They can, you know, make each other's dating choices with quite a bit of insight."
The actor also teased that Todd might return to his scheming ways again once his mum Eileen leaves the Cobbles.
