Coronation Street spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (February 26), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street has confirmed Dylan Wilson's sentence for his role in Mason Radcliffe's tragic death.

Dylan is being sent to serve time in a Secure Training Centre (STC) after his knife was used to kill Mason last month.

The troubled teenager bought a zombie knife online last year in the belief that he was protecting himself. His decision had tragic consequences when Logan and Matty Radcliffe used it against their younger brother Mason, amid a violent incident at the Weatherfield Precinct.

Show bosses first teased Dylan's fate last week, as spoiler pictures were released previewing tough times for him in the STC.

The exact details of his sentence were kept under wraps, but Wednesday's episode – which is streaming early on ITVX – has now revealed all.

When Dylan faces the music in court, the judge reminds him that it's not his first knife offence and his actions have had terrible consequences.

Dylan is sentenced to six months in the STC, reduced from nine months due to his guilty plea.

This paves the way for a dark new storyline, as Dylan fears for his safety among the dangerous lads that he's locked up with.

Before Dylan faces court, he receives an ominous warning from Lauren Bolton as she gives him some advice on how to deal with prison.

She suggests: "If you want my advice, don't be yourself. Don't cry, don't let your guard down for a second. And don't trust anyone who's nice to you – they're after something."

Lauren's tough words could be foreshadowing the arrival of new character Brody, played by former Hollyoaks star Ryan Mulvey.

Brody makes a point of befriending Dylan when he joins the STC, but does he have an ulterior motive?

Coronation Street fans can see Dylan's sentencing tonight at 8pm on ITV1, or right now on ITVX.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
