Coronation Street's Bobby was caught out by Ryan after he foiled his plans to help dad Rob.

The convict is on the run after kidnapping Carla in a plan to escape returning to prison.

Viewers recently saw Rob reach out to son Bobby for help, asking him for money to help with his getaway and it seems Bobby is willing to help.

Shortly after, Daisy left and Ryan spotted Bobby across the road on his phone and looking shifty.

"Heading to the bank now, I'll get as much as I can," Bobby told Rob on the phone, before being interrupted by Ryan.

Ryan questioned what Bobby was up to, but he batted it off and said he had to get to work.

An unconvinced Ryan secretly followed Bobby and saw him return to Underworld with a brown envelope. Ryan then barged into the building, snatched the envelope away and confronted him.

"Stupid idiot, I know exactly who this is for," he said, adding: "It's for Rob isn't it?"

Ryan then demanded Bobby tell him everything, including where and when he was planning on meeting Rob to give him the money.

Ryan went to the agreed place and waited for Rob, but viewers saw Rob stay in hiding due to the police presence near Ryan.

Ryan then returned to Underworld and told Bobby that Rob was a no show and accused him of tipping Rob off. Bobby admitted it was nice to feel needed by Rob to an incredulous Ryan, who reiterated that Carla nearly died because of his dad.

At the police station, Lisa was given the heads up by Kit about the recovered recording of her promise to Rob on Mandy's burner. She was then questioned by DI Costello and pleaded that the recording was made under duress, but Costello wasn't so convinced.

Ryan and Bobby later arrived at the hospital to pay a visit to Carla. Ryan informed her that Bobby had tried to help Rob, leaving her shocked.

Bobby tried to apologise but an upset Carla told him: "Get out my sight." Bobby left her room dejected.

At Underworld, Bobby sulked while Betsy tried to cheer him up with chocolate. She offered to talk to Carla and make her see sense.

Back at the hospital, Lisa was sat by Carla's bedside. Carla told Lisa she'd lied to the police and said that Rob fell, not that she'd pushed him. Lisa told her she was right to do so and confirmed she'd keep it quiet too.

The episode ended with Rob laying low in a dark alleyway as he sent a text to Bobby calling him a traitor.

Bobby, sat alone drinking in the Rovers, saw the text message and sighed.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
