Coronation Street spoilers follow from Friday's episode (February 14), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street has confirmed a dark threat to Max Turner's safety as his exit storyline continues.

The troubled teenager could be walking into a terrifying situation as Harvey Gaskell finds a new way to torment the Platt family.

This week's episodes have seen Max unveiled as the mystery arsonist who set fire to his family home in an insurance scam.

Max planned to flee abroad after being rumbled by the police, but Friday's episode (February 14) sees him do the right thing by handing himself into the police.

David is outraged by the news – and things only get worse when word somehow gets back to gangster Harvey, who's already serving time in prison himself after his involvement in a robbery.

Texting David from behind bars, Harvey writes: "I hear your nipper might be joining us in the clink. Some very dodgy people in here – I'd pay up."

Viewers know that the Platts owe thousands of pounds to Harvey. David made an ill-fated decision last year to steal the proceeds of the robbery that Harvey carried out with his brother Damon.

Paddy said last month: "After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max and Coronation Street to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.

"I'm eternally grateful for the chance to bring Max's story to life and it's been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
