Coronation Street's Michael Bailey faces a terrifying situation next week as a fire spreads through the builder's yard.
Michael is desperately searching for his troubled father Ed when he lands himself in danger in dramatic scenes.
Ed has been in disgrace with most of his family since Christmas, when he confessed to his gambling relapse and secretly selling the Baileys' presents at a pawn shop.
Next week, things seem to be looking up when Ed reveals that his friend Marcus has offered him a bed at his house. This means that Ed can stop living with Dee-Dee and get some independence back.

Ed also hopes that Gary Windass will make an offer for the builder's yard, which could solve his financial troubles. Sadly, Gary soon breaks the news that he won't be buying the yard after all.
Later, as Dee-Dee helps Ed to pack up his things, she admits that it's good timing as her flatmate Adam Barlow will be glad of the space.
Marcus then calls Ed and explains that the spare room is no longer available. Ed covers, not wanting to be a burden to Dee-Dee.
Ed's brother Ronnie tells Michael that Ed is now homeless after Marcus let him down. He also reveals that Ed seemed desperate after his disappointing meeting with Gary.

Later, Michael has Ed's woes on his mind when he spots smoke billowing from the builder's yard.
Michael races up the stairs to find Ed, but there's no sign of him. As he turns to leave, he discovers that the fire has now spread and the stairs are engulfed in flames, trapping him. Will Michael be rescued in time?
