Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Paul Foreman has decided to move forward with his assisted dying plan in Coronation Street.
Last year, Paul brought friend Todd Grimshaw into his confidence with his plan to end his life rather than let his Motor Neurone Disease (MND) progress to its natural end.
In the meantime, Paul has been trying to plan for his future. That's included ordering an electronic speech assistance program that can replicate key phrases once he loses the ability to speak.
Paul received the device in Wednesday's (January 3) episode and tested it out with some key phrases.

However, Billy then delivered some bad news about the couple's plan to take a holiday. Billy found out that travel insurance costs were extraordinarily high in Paul's case, so the pair reluctantly agreed to call off their plans to take a break together.
Gemma was upset to hear her brother's holiday wouldn't be going forward, so joined with David to try to cheer her sibling up with some sangria in the Rovers.
The afternoon took a disastrous turn as a drunk Paul sent David home before his meeting with Moses, then made the unfortunate mistake of trying to walk to the loo unassisted.
Billy was at a frustrated Paul's side to help him get cleaned up, only for Moses to turn up an hour late for their meeting. Later, Paul confided in Todd that it was time to put his assisted dying plan into action.
The emotional storyline will continue in upcoming scenes as Paul gets some bad news from Todd about his plans, leading him to turn to mate Abi Webster for support instead.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
