Coronation Street's Paul Foreman will beg Abi Webster for help in scenes airing in the New Year.

Paul was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) earlier this year, and is taking steps to prepare for his worsening condition.

In scenes airing in 2024, Paul asks Todd to help him end his life when the time comes.

Paul acknowledges that this is too much to ask when Todd refuses, but explains how he's terrified of becoming a hostage inside his own body.

A sympathetic Todd takes Paul to the surgery, where Paul pretends that he's in great pain and needs morphine. To Todd's relief, Dr Gaddas refuses to prescribe it.

Later in the Rovers, Abi overhears Paul complaining to Todd that he couldn't get a prescription for morphine.

Todd is surprised when Paul invites Abi over to the flat, though his motivations soon become clear when he asks Abi to score him some drugs. But will Abi help Paul out?

Back at the garage, Cassie offers Kevin her heartfelt thanks for giving her a second chance, and Kevin praises Abi's ability to do right by others regardless of her own feelings.

Conflicted, Abi makes out that she has been called on a breakdown and hurries off as Cassie watches with curiosity.

Abi then meets Dean to buys some benzos, unaware that someone is photographing the exchange.
